Emergency crews in Elmont were called to the intersection of Locustwood Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike for an injured pedestrian shortly before 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27. Ulster Police are seeking witnesses after a 66-year-old man was found lying in the roadway and later died from his injuries. The unidentified man was found around 7 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, on the E. Chester Street Bypass near the Bank of Greene County. The man was treated at the scene by police and members of Ulster Hose Fire Co.
